Dean’s approach towards coaching is largely the product of 40 years of experience in coaching, leadership development, team development and employment/staffing. Since joining forces with Leading Edge Coaching & Development in 2005, Dean has provided tailored coaching services to over 35 executives who are in senior leadership positions in a broad range of industries and organizations. Services include assessment, strategic planning facilitation, coaching for the development of leadership skills and conferring with executives on a diverse set of business issues and challenges.
In addition to having a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, Dean has also attended over 30 hours of training in executive coaching and is certified in a variety of assessment and leadership development programs and processes.
Dean believes that as a coach, it is his responsibility to create a heightened sense of self awareness in the client. He urges them to take a “time out”, look in the mirror, and carefully evaluate their leadership style and practices. He works to modify those habits that are undermining their effectiveness, and focuses on reinforcing the “right stuff” via practical insights and ideas.
Incidentally, Dean was Carol’s boss back in the day. And Carol shares that many of her leadership best practices come from working for Dean!
